Online retailer Amazon is set to create 1600 new fixed contract jobs in Spain this year, the company announced.
Amazon has invested more that €1,100 million increasing its presence in Spain since it first opened its online doors to the country in 2011. And with new logistic centres opening last year in Barcelona and Madrid, and a new technological centre set to open in Barcelona this month, employment within the company continues to rise.
In 2017, Amazon attracted more than 3.7 virtual visitors per day to its online Spanish website, making it the largest E-Commerce player in the Spanish market, reports newspaper Murcia Today. Currently only 16% of transactions in Spain are made through electronic payments, creating great scope for Amazon to tap into an otherwise untouched market.
