More outdoor areas, new facilities and over 3,000 new parking spaces are on the agenda.
Marbella mayor Ángeles Muñoz, says she wants Marbella to be all about pedestrians with ‘easy, accessible and cheap parking’, reports newspaper The Olive Press.
The new renovation projects will see the creation of 3,300 new parking spaces across the town, including the renovation of Postigo Street car park costing €83,000 – the football stadium is also another site being considered for underground parking. The thriving area of San Pedro will also get between 1,000 and 1,200 new parking spaces.
The ‘urban mobility plan’ outlines that the €1.7 million fund for the renovation project must be spent in 2019, so changes across the town are imminent.
