Malaga’s iconic Tivoli World amusement park is to receive a €300 million makeover, a move that will create thousands of new jobs and boost tourist numbers in the area.
The park, located in Benalmadena, will undergo a full modernization which will see the addition of 43 new attractions as well as the construction of a new commercial and leisure centre on adjoining land.
Tremon, the developer behind the project, will build a hypermarket, cinema, concert hall, office units and a hotel in the new complex. Outside there will be numerous gardens and a 2,000 space car park, The Olive Press reports.
The projected is expected to take two years, with the construction of the complex creating 1,600 new temporary jobs and 3,300 jobs created once the development is completed.
However, the project will not go ahead until a legal dispute between the park’s previous owner Rafael Gomez and current owners Tremon is resolved.
