Marbella town hall has been on a mission to boost its image as a high-end lavish travel destination by targeting luxury travel companies in the US.
Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, visited New York last week to sign an agreement with one of America’s largest luxury travel agents, Virtuoso, to secure Marbella as the preferred destination for its clientele.
Muñoz said: “After the conference that Virtuoso held in our town in November, we started work on this agreement, which aims to capture high-end travellers who are searching for the quality on offer in Marbella,” reports local Costa del Sol newspaper Sur in English.
Since the conference, the number of travellers visiting Marbella from the US has risen by 54%, Muñoz claims.
While in New York, the mayor also met with Skift, a leading information research portal for the travel, tourism and business industry, in a bid to increase Marbella’s exposure as an ideal travel and investment destination.Tags: Marbella, Marbella investment
