A new taxi app has come into effect in Malaga following a pilot scheme ran in August.
The app, called Mytaxi, currently has 150 vehicles operating in and around the city and hopes to add another 100 taxis to its fleet by the end of the year, reports newspaper Euro Weekly News.
The company is currently offering half price taxi journeys for users in Malaga in an effort of raising the apps profile.
“Our main objective is to improve the competitiveness of the Malaga taxi sector, as we have already done in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, says a representative of the company Pablo Sanchez.
“We have digitally transformed taxi services in Spain and adapted them to urban environments.”
Mytaxi was founded in June 2009 and in May 2011 launched cars in 6 major German cities. In 2011/2012 the company entered the Spanish market, launching in Barcelona and Madrid. The company now has a 40% share in the market, according to its website, with more than 45,000 connected cars across 40 cities in Germany as well as Vienna, Graz, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid, Warsaw and Washington and now Malaga!Tags: Malaga Business News, Mytaxi App
