Spain is the second best country in the world when it comes to heritage, according to the world’s best country survey conducted by US News & World Report, Y&R’s BAV Consulting and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Spain is a country full of cultural delights ranging from foods to historic attractions so it comes as no surprise that the country ranked highly in this category and only narrowly missed out on the top spot to Italy.
Although Spain fared well in some of the nine subcategories, its overall position fell from 16th to nineteenth.
As Spain fell down the rank, the UK rose to be voted the world’s third best country, despite the countries uncertain future in regards to Brexit.
The UK gained its highest score in the Entrepreneurship category coming fourth out of 80, whereas ranking only twelfth in the Quality of Life category due to its affordability..
More than 21,000 people across 36 countries took the survey in the lead up to the US elections. The USA fell down 3 places to 7th following the presidential results.
