Unemployment levels in Spain are 7.9% lower than a year ago, despite a slight increase in October, according to the Ministry of Employment. In the last 12 months, unemployment figures have fallen by nearly 300,000 to reach a total of 3,467,026. Although this figure may seem high, the Spanish jobs market has come a long way since 2013 when unemployment levels reached over 5 million.
Unemployment levels in Spain rise slightly in August, after holiday season draws to a close. During the month of August, the number of people registered as unemployed in Spain stood at 3,382,324, a rise of 1.4% (or 46,400 people), according to latest government figures.
