Locals and holiday makers alike can expect to see UBER taxi’s on the Costa del Sol this summer, after the company announced the launch of UberX.
An Uber spokeswoman told Techcrunch: “With the launch of UberX in time for the busy summer season, we are thrilled to bring on-demand transportation to the Costa del Sol,” reports The Olive Press newspaper.
Since 2015, the app has been accessed by 150,000 people on the Costa del Sol, showing just how popular the app-based service would be in Spain.
Holidaymakers arriving on the Costa will be able to access the app with their existing version and existing card details, making finding a taxi a simple and easy process.
UberX will be offering a professional licensed driver service, launching in early June, covering over 60km including Malaga to Marbella and it will be a year round service, the company confirmed.
“We are committed to being a true partner to the cities of this famous tourist region for the long term,” the spokesperson said.Tags: Business News, Costa del Sol, Malaga, Marbella, UBER
