Since 2013, the number of people registered as unemployed in Spain has fallen by 5 million.
During the month of May, unemployment levels in Spain fell by 2.51% to 3,252,130 – the lowest figure recorded since January 2009, reports newspaper Murcia Today.
Unemployment fell in all of Spain’s 17 regions with the most significant occurring in the Balearics (14.4%).
Monthly unemployment data from the Ministry of Employment are always significantly lower than the quarterly Active Population Survey (EPA), which takes into account those who are unemployed but are not registered as so at the unemployment office. The EPA reports a 3.79 million unemployment reduction in the first quarter of the year, 10.8% fewer than 12 months previously.Tags: Unemployment Spain
